Constitutional Rights

Tom's campaign slogan is "Protecting the Constitution".  Our founding fathers created an amazing system of government. A system of checks and balances, with ultimate authority retained by We the People. For many years, during both Republican and Democrat administrations, our limited government system has been trampled. Times of crisis have accelerated the theft of our individual rights and individual responsibility.

Tom believes the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are founded upon Judeo-Christian values and the natural rights of man. Today, we find many federal rules and regulations which grant special privileges to one special interest over another. Leviathon's march toward socialism must be countered by leaders with a clear understanding of the Constitution and its limits upon power.

The Constitution did not grant the Executive branch the power to have unelected, unconfirmed Czars control our activities. The Legislative branch of our government has neglected its responsibility to monitor not only the Federal Reserve, but the many unelected dictators and their ever meddlesome involvement in our daily lives. There is a reason that the United States House of Representatives has an election every two years.

Tom looks forward to discussing the Constitution and the role of our Federal government with New Mexicans in the coming months.
